The China Securities Regulatory Commission held the 2021 “May 15 National Investor Protection Public Awareness Day” event.

5 On the 15th, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) held the 2021 “May 15 National Investor Protection Public Awareness Day” event in Beijing, with the theme “Focusing on Investors, Acting Together—Staying True to Our Original Aspirations and Fulfilling Our Mission by Doing Practical Things for Investors.” Yi Huiman, Chairman of the CSRC, announced the launch of the investor protection publicity campaign titled “Retracing the Centennial Journey: A Red Education Tour for Investors,” and presented flags to representatives of the publicity team. Jiang Wei, Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court, attended the event, while Yan Qingmin, Vice Chairman of the CSRC, also attended and delivered a speech.

　　 This event is part of the CSRC system’s efforts to further put into practice its original aspirations and missions, taking Party history study and education as an opportunity and carrying out the “I Do Practical Things for the People” campaign. At the event site, an online dispute resolution and mediation platform for securities and futures disputes was fully launched. Both on-site and online, original investor education products—well-received by investors—that have been developed in recent years by the securities regulatory authorities and market institutions were showcased simultaneously. In addition, a series of sub-reports from the “Blue Book on Investor Protection in China’s Capital Market (2021)” were released. The China Securities Industry Association, the China Futures Association, the China Listed Companies Association, and the China Fund Industry Association jointly issued an initiative to their members, calling for “Improving Customer Service Quality and Enhancing Investor Satisfaction.” On the same day, various units within the securities regulatory system simultaneously launched a range of investor protection publicity activities across different regions, including the kick-off of the fourth “Shareholders Are Here” knowledge competition, “Investor Education Enters Grassroots Party Building,” and the “Dream Plan” initiative. The “Retracing a Century: Red Journey of Investor Education” investor protection publicity campaign is co-organized by the Investor Protection Bureau of the CSRC and the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. A team of young volunteers will travel to old revolutionary base areas to popularize investor protection knowledge among local investors and the general public through diverse formats. This campaign will last for one and a half months and will be conducted through a combination of online and offline approaches.

　　Relevant officials from the Working Committee of Central and State Organs, the Supreme People's Court, the People's Bank of China, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, and other organizations, as well as the head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed at the China Securities Regulatory Commission, attended the main venue event on-site, together with principal officials from various departments of the Commission’s headquarters and selected system units, plus representatives from investors, media outlets, and the publicity delegation. Chairpersons of the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges, along with principal officials from all Commission-supervised entities and dispatched agencies, local investors, market participants, mediation organizations, investor education bases, and local media representatives participated via video link from their respective locations. In total, more than 1,500 people took part in this event.
