The low-voltage grounding resistance cabinet is a complete set of grounding resistance devices used in low-voltage systems ranging from 0.22 kV to 0.66 kV. To improve the power supply quality of 0.66/0.38/0.22 (kV) low-voltage power systems and reduce equipment outages caused by ground faults, the low-voltage power system within the main plant building of a power plant should adopt high-resistance grounding. This approach not only eliminates the need for immediate tripping upon single-phase ground faults but also reduces the likelihood of damage to electrical equipment during operation when fuses are used as protective devices.
After installing the neutral-point grounding resistor cabinet, when a non-metallic ground fault occurs, the current flowing through the fault point and the neutral point is significantly reduced due to the influence of the grounding resistance at the fault point. At the same time, the voltage rise in the non-fault phases is also markedly reduced, and the zero-sequence voltage value is approximately half that of a single-phase metallic ground fault.
