Overview

The pulsed-current-based small-current ground-fault location device adds a controllable pulsed-current generator to the conventional small-current fault-location device. Specifically, a resistor assembly capable of being controlled and delivering pulsed currents is installed at the system’s neutral point. At the same time, the fault-location algorithm in the core controller for small currents has been adjusted. By adopting this complete fault-location system, the accuracy of fault location has been significantly improved.

The components of the complete set of equipment include: a grounding transformer (optional when the system has no neutral point), a pulse current generation device, current transformers for main circuit current measurement, an isolating switchgear assembly, a thyristor device controlled by pulse current triggers, a monitoring and protection system for switching the current generation device, a core controller, and a main control panel, among other components.
